Built for the hard sites

Designed around efficiency, thermal management and the range of conditions a Canadian site throws at a luminaire in one year.

Anatomy

Six parts that decide whether a luminaire lasts

Numbered the way an engineer reads a section drawing. The cutaway itself is drawn from the real product in the build.

1

Die-cast aluminum housing

Deep radial or linear fins move heat away from the diode. No vents for dust to pack, no fans to fail.

2

Sealed driver compartment

The electronics live behind their own gasket, isolated from the optic chamber and rated for -40 C start.

3

One-piece silicone gasket

Seated in a machined channel between lens frame and housing. IP66 against a pressure washer, a blizzard or a paint booth wash-down.

4

Precision optic array

Individual lenses over each LED shape the beam: forward throw for a frontage, wide for a bay, tight for a haul road.

5

Tempered glass or polycarbonate lens

IK08 impact rating, wipes clean, UV-stable. Flat, so it sheds snow and does not collect overspray.

6

Stainless hardware and mounts

Slipfitter, arm, yoke, hook or wall bracket, vibration-tested for a pole beside a haul road.

Optimal lighting

Thermal management is the whole game

Heat is what kills an LED. Every ten degrees at the junction takes years off the diode and shifts its colour. A luminaire that cannot shed heat in a July shop or a sealed booth is a luminaire on a countdown.

The housings are die-cast, not extruded, so the fin mass sits where the heat is. The driver has its own compartment, so its heat never joins the diode's. Nothing vents, so nothing packs with dust, and the whole assembly is rated to keep its output at 50 C ambient and to start at -40 C, which is the range a Canadian site actually sees in one year.

Test reports for each series are issued with the catalogue.

The tests

What the rating means

Each rating on a spec sheet is a test. These are the six that matter on a Canadian site, and the report behind each one is issued with the catalogue.

Concept imagery
Thermal

Continuous operation at 50 C ambient; diode junction held inside the rated envelope. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

Cold start

Instant start and full output at -40 C, no restrike delay. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

Ingress

IP66: powerful water jets from any direction, dust-tight. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

Impact

IK08 lens: 5 joule impact without failure. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

Surge

10 kV line surge protection for rural and industrial grids. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

Vibration

Pole and mount tested for haul-road and compressor vibration. Test reports are issued per series when the catalogue is published.

24V DC

Solar and battery ready

The PL and WP Series take a 24V DC battery bus directly. No inverter, no conversion loss, no extra failure point on a site nobody visits until spring.

Reverse-polarity and under-voltage protection are built in so the luminaire works with the system's low-voltage disconnect. High efficacy and a time-of-night dimming profile keep the battery bank and the panel small, and the -40 C rating matters more here than anywhere else, because the battery is cold too.
