The pit at night

Mine site lighting built for the pit

Haul roads, crushers, conveyors, laydown yards and the dry all need light, and every one of them is trying to shake, freeze, soak or bury the fixture doing it.

A mine is the environment the platform was designed for: vibration from haul trucks on the pole, dust that packs any vent, -40 C at the top of the bench and a wash-down at the plant. Fixtures that live in a warehouse do not live here.

The PL Series carries a sealed IP66 die-cast housing with no vents to pack, a one-piece silicone gasket, stainless hardware and a vibration-tested slipfitter mount. The HB Series covers the shop and the mill building. Both start instantly at -40 C, so a power dip on the night shift does not leave a haul road dark for ten minutes.

-40 COutdoor Canadian site. Every fixture on this quote is rated to start at -40 C and carries a 10 kV surge rating for rural grids.

Questions

Asked before the quote

Do you have hazardous location ratings?

Ratings are confirmed per project and per fixture. The planner flags any classified area so the rated variant is confirmed before a quote goes out.

Can the pole lights run off the site generator or solar?

The 24V DC option on PL and WP runs directly from a battery bus fed by solar, wind or a generator, without an inverter.
